Picture time!

Here I am last weekend when I was 39weeks and 3days.

Now I am just about at 40 weeks and I can't wait to get this over with!

While I am really uncomfortable, the worst part is the waiting!  I've never had much patience and sitting around waiting for something to happen is so difficult!  I'm uncomfortable and I'm running out of clothes that fit so I don't want to go anywhere.  It is difficult to drive with the large belly and short arms/legs because you sit very close to the steering wheel, so I don't want to go anywhere.  I live in fear of having my water break in public, so I don't want to go anywhere...getting the point?

And now pregnancy fun fact no one ever tells you about #452:  Lightning crotch!  Yep, you read that right.  It feels as though your crotch has been hit by lightning, electrocuted, or stabbed repeatedly with a sharp knife.  It can get so painful that it stops you in your tracks.  Apparently, it is related to dilation/effacement so I'm taking it as a good sign. My 40 week appointment is tomorrow so I'll have another update then...but hopefully I'll be in labor so I won't.

39 week update

I just got back from my 39 week appointment and I'm happy to say I've progressed some.  I'm currently more than 1cm dilated, 50% effaced, and the baby is at -1 station. This puts my bishops score at a 7, which is a good sign I can avoid a c-section.

No picture this week, yet.  I usually take them on the weekends. I've only gained a half a pound, so I don't think I look too much different.  Thank god it wasn't another 3+ pound week, I don't think my poor back could take it!!

38 week update

I had my 38 week appointment this afternoon and I was surprised to find that I am not yet dilated.  My cervix is soft and the baby has dropped into a great position so my doctor said everything looks great.  Dilation is really not a great sign of impending labor so I'm still in the dark regarding that, but I'm relieved to find out he's head down and dropped into position.  One of my favorite doctors is on call this weekend so I'm kinda hoping I do go into labor :)

I did gain 3 pounds in one week though!! YIKES!  I'm hoping this is body fat or my milk coming in and has no indication of the size Clark will be.  I blame Tovi for sending me home with a fistful of delectables from the baby shower.  And I blame my mom for taking me out to dinner lots.

Yesterday was also my last day at the lab until the Fall semester.  So now it is all about relaxation and getting the house together. Oh and internet shopping (which I'll admit I'm slightly addicted to).

I'm feeling pretty good these days.  Tired and pretty uncomfortable most of the time, but I'm in no rush to get this over with.  The doctors will let me go until 42 weeks before medical intervention and that makes me happy.  I mean, I don't Clark to take THAT long, but at least I don't feel rushed or on some arbitrary deadline.

30th, 4th, and 1st

I just had to show off my 30th birthday / 4th anniversary / 1st mothers day present 

It is a platinum, pearl, and diamond ring that we had custom made at Worthmore Jewelers here in Atlanta. 

We went to the midtown location and I highly recommend them :)

Baby Shower

This weekend some of our fabulous friends hosted a baby shower in our honor.  The food was so delicious (mmm...chocolate balls :), the company was wonderful, and the gifts were generous.

Full term!

At 37 weeks Clark is officially full term!  This means that if he were to be born today, not only would the doctors not try to stop labor, he would have the best chance of being born with no complications!

On to the photos! We got a new camera this week and we're still learning how to use it :)

It was also my 30th birthday this weekend, so my lovely mama came down to help me celebrate and help me get ready for baby.

Our celebration was a dinner at MF Sushi Bar in Midtown.  I highly recommend it!

Nursery reveal!

 The big day has arrived!  The nursery is officially "complete".  We still have to put some pictures in the frames and there is a little robot wooden statue in the mail, but over all it is done!
